Description
The femoral artery is a large vessel that provides oxygenated blood to lower extremity structures and in part to the anterior abdominal wall. The common femoral artery arises as a continuation of the external iliac artery after it passes under the inguinal ligament. Femoral arterial endothelial cells participate in the formation of the inner wall of the artery and are continuously subjected to shear stress from blood flow. Endothelial cells secrete various endothelial factors and influence the constriction and growth of blood vessels.
Rat Femoral Artery Endothelial Cells (rFAECs) from Creative Bioarray are isolated from the rat femoral artery tissue. The method we use to isolate renal collecting duct epthelial cells was developed based on a combination of established and our proprietary methods. The rFAECs are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to von Willebrand factor (vWF). Each vial contains 0.5x10^6 cells per ml and is delivered frozen.
