Hair Cells
Hair follicle cells are specialized cells that originate from the epidermis and are involved in hair growth, cycling, pigmentation, and regeneration. These cells are critical for the maintenance of follicular shape, regulation of stem cell niches, and coordination of epithelial-mesenchymal interactions in the hair follicle milieu.
Our collection of hair cells offers physiologically relevant in vitro models for hair biology, follicular regeneration, alopecia causes, cosmetic sciences, and applications in regenerative medicine. It houses the major population of follicular cells responsible for hair shaft development, keratin production and growth cycle management.

Cosmetic & Personal Care Testing
Hair follicle cells are widely used for evaluating hair growth-promoting compounds, cosmetic ingredients, scalp care products, and safety assessment programs.
What types of hair follicle cells are available?
Our portfolio includes outer root sheath cells, inner root sheath cells, germinal matrix cells, follicular keratinocytes, and dermal papilla cells, representing key epithelial and mesenchymal components of the human hair follicle.
Which cells are most suitable for hair growth research?
Human Hair Dermal Papilla Cells and Human Hair Germinal Matrix Cells are widely used to study hair growth regulation, follicle cycling, and signaling pathways involved in hair development.
Can these cells be used for alopecia studies?
Yes. These primary hair follicle cells are commonly used to investigate mechanisms of androgenetic alopecia, follicular degeneration, stem cell dysfunction, and therapeutic intervention strategies.
Are hair follicle cells suitable for cosmetic testing?
Absolutely. Hair follicle-derived cells are frequently used for evaluating hair growth-promoting ingredients, scalp care formulations, cosmetic efficacy, and product safety.
What applications are supported by these hair cell models?
Applications include hair growth research, follicle regeneration, alopecia studies, stem cell biology, cosmetic science, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine development.
