Description
Oligodendrocytes are an important part of glial cells in the central nervous system, and their main function is to form myelin sheaths around the axons of neurons, assisting in the efficient transmission of nerve electrical signals. In addition, oligodendrocytes also have the functions of synthesizing and secreting various cytokines to promote the development and survival of neurons and glial cells.
Rabbit oligodendrocytes from Creative Bioarray are isolated from the rabbit brain tissue. The method we use to isolate rabbit oligodendrocytes was developed based on a combination of established and our proprietary methods. The rabbit oligodendrocytes are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to myelin basic protein (MBP). Each vial contains 0.5x10^6 cells per ml and is delivered frozen.
