Description
The femoral artery is a large vessel that provides oxygenated blood to lower extremity structures and in part to the anterior abdominal wall. The common femoral artery arises as a continuation of the external iliac artery after it passes under the inguinal ligament. Smooth muscle cells (SMCs) are primary contributors to the development of arterial disease. SMCs express calcium channels, ICAM-1 and VCAM-1, which may be the cause of vascular wall inflammation and further vascular diseases.
Rabbit femoral artery smooth muscle cells from Creative Bioarray are isolated from the rabbit femoral artery tissue. The method we use to isolate rabbit femoral artery smooth muscle cells was developed based on a combination of established and our proprietary methods. The rabbit femoral artery smooth muscle cells are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to α-SMA. Each vial contains 0.5x10^6 cells per ml and is delivered frozen.
