Description
The epididymis is an organ composed of many tortuous, tiny tubular structures. It connects the vas deferens to the seminiferous tubules of the testes. When sperm leave the testis, they enter the epididymis and continue to grow to maturity. In addition to storing sperm, the epididymis can also secrete epididymal fluid, which contains some hormones, enzymes and specific nutrients that help sperm mature. Epithelial cells in the epididymis form the blood-epididymis barrier, which ensures the maintenance of a unique luminal environment that is conducive to sperm maturation, protection and storage.
Rabbit epididymal epithelial cells from Creative Bioarray are isolated from the rabbit epididymal tissue. The method we use to isolate rabbit epididymal epithelial cells was developed based on a combination of established and our proprietary methods. The rabbit epididymal epithelial cells are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to pan-cytokeratin (PCK). Each vial contains 0.5x10^6 cells per ml and is delivered frozen.

Storage and Shipping
Creative Bioarray ships frozen cells on dry ice. On receipt, immediately transfer frozen cells to liquid nitrogen (-180 °C) until ready for experimental use. Never can cells be kept at -20 °C.
