Description
Cajal interstitial cells are a special class of cells that are distributed in a network between the endings of the enteric nervous system and smooth muscle cells in the GI tract. The production and maintenance of motor function in the gastrointestinal tract is the result of the synergistic action of Cajal interstitial cells, the enteric nervous system, and smooth muscle cells. Interstitial cells not only spontaneously generate rhythmic slow waves, but also mediate the signal regulation between the enteric nervous system and smooth muscle.
Rabbit Cajal intestinal cells from Creative Bioarray are isolated from the rabbit intestinal tissue. The method we use to isolate rabbit Cajal intestinal stromal cells was developed based on a combination of established and our proprietary methods. The rabbit Cajal intestinal cells are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to receptor tyrosine kinase (c-Kit). Each vial contains 0.5x10^6 cells per ml and is delivered frozen.
