Description
The annulus fibrosus is a fibrocartilaginous tissue consisting of layers of lamellae rich in highly cross-linked collagen fibrils, whereas the nucleus pulposus is more amorphous with a small percentage of randomly oriented fibrils and a large content of proteoglycans. Annulus fibrosus cells can synthesize and secrete annulus fibrosus extracellular matrix to maintain normal annulus fibrosus structure and function.
Rabbit anulus fibrosus cells from Creative Bioarray are isolated from the rabbit intervertebral disc tissue. The method we use to isolate rabbit anulus fibrosus cells was developed based on a combination of established and our proprietary methods. The rabbit anulus fibrosus cells are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to collagen I or II. Each vial contains 0.5x10^6 cells per ml and is delivered frozen.
