Description
Recombinant murine Insulin-Like Growth Factor 1 (rMu IGF-1) belongs to the IGF family, which are mitogenic polypeptide growth factors that stimulate the proliferation and survival of various cell types including muscle, bone, and cartilage tissue in vitro. Recombinant mouse IGF-1 produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 70 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 7600 Dalton.

                            Activity
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent proliferation (measured by 3H-thymidine uptake) of murine BALB\C 3T3 cells, is less than 1.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >1.0 x 10^6 units/mg.
                            Endotoxin Level
                                Less than 1 EU/μg.
                            Formulation
The sterile-filtered protein solution was lyophilized with no additives.
                            Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in water not less than 100 μg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
                            Storage & Stability
The lyophilized rHu IGF-1, though stable at room temperature, is best stored desiccated at - 20°C. Reconstituted rHu IGF-1 should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0,1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
