ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Nerve growth factor (beta polypeptide) (CHO)

  • Specification
  • Recommended Products
Recombinant Human Nerve growth factor-beta (rHu beta-NGF) is a potent neurotrophic factor, which supports the growth and survivability of nerve and/or glial cells. The active form of rHu beta-NGF is a dimer, formed by two identical subunits, which is held together by strong hydrophobic interactions. Recombinant human Nerve Growth Factor beta produced in CHO is a homodimer, glycosylated, polypeptide chain of 2 identical 119 amino acids and a molecular mass of 16,950 Dalton.
Product Overview
Human NGF expressed in CHO cells
Molecular Mass
33.9 kDa
CAT# CSC-CTK0478-20 (20 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0478-100 (100 μg)
Expression System
CHO cells
Greater than 98% as determined by SDS-PAGE, FPLC and HPLC analysis.
rHu beta-NGF is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The ED50, as calculated by its ability to stimulate chick E9 DRG neurite outgrowth, was found to be 1 x 10^6 units/mg.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
NGF-beta was lyophilized from a 0.2 μm sterile-filter ed solution in 20 mM Tris-HCl (pH 8.0) + 0.15 M NaCl.
Please centrifuge product before opening the vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into water or other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted beta-NGF should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0,1% HAS or BSA). Please avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
