IFN lambda-1,-2, and -3 (also known as IL-29, IL-28A and IL-28B respectively) are distantly related to the IL-10 family and Interferons. All three IFN-lambdas use a distinct receptor system composed of an IFN-lambdaR1 subunit (also called CRF2-12) and IL-10R2 subunit (also called CRF2-14). Signaling through this receptor system induces antiviral defense similar but distinct than the type I Interferons. Recombinant human IFN-lambda 2 produced in HEK cells is a non- glycosylated monomer, having a total molecular weight of 24 kDa. It has been purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Human IFNL2 expressed in HEK cells
CAT# CSC-CTK0195-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0195-50 (50 μg)
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
rHu IFN-lambda 2 is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The specific activity was determined by the dose-dependent protection of the cytopathic effect on A549 cells (human lung adenocarcinoma epithelial cell line) that were challenged with encephalomyocarditis (EMC) virus and is typically 0.5-5 ng/ml.
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Sterile-filtered, white, lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Lyophilized from a concentrated protein solution (1 mg/ml) in 1xPBS.
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu IFN-lambda 2 should be used immediately or stored long- term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
