ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Fibroblast growth factor 17

  • Specification
  • Recommended Products
FGF-17 is a heparin binding growth factor that is a member of the FGF family. Proteins of this family play a central role during prenatal development and postnatal growth and regeneration of a variety of tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF-17 signals through the FGFR 1c, 2c, 3c, and 4. FGF-17 signals induction and patterning of embryonic brain. Recombinant human FGF-17 is a 22.7 kDa protein consisting of 195 amino acid residues.
Product Overview
Human FGF17 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
22.7 kDa
CAT# CSC-CTK0168-25 (25 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0168-125 (125 μg)
Expression System
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
The ED50, as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF-receptors, is 2 x 10^6 units/mg.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Sterile, lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Lyophilzed from a solution in 10 mM Tris buffer (pH 9.0) + 0.15 M ammonium sulfate.
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized FGF-17 should be reconstituted in sterile 5 mM Tris buffer (pH 8) to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into water or other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu FGF-17 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
