Description
The conjunctiva is the membrane that lines the eyelid and loops back to cover the sclera, right up to the edge of the cornea. The conjunctival epithelium is an important part of the ocular surface and serves as a protective barrier for the ocular surface. It plays an important role in maintaining the stability of the tear film, lubricating the ocular surface, maintaining normal vision, and repairing damage to the ocular surface epithelium.
Rabbit conjunctival epithelial cells from Creative Bioarray are isolated from the rabbit eye tissue. The method we use to isolate rabbit conjunctival epithelial cells was developed based on a combination of established and our proprietary methods. The rabbit conjunctival epithelial cells are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to Desmin or pan-cytokeratin (PCK). Each vial contains 0.5x10^6 cells per ml and is delivered frozen.
