Description
5p5q FISH Probe is specifically engineered to detect deletions in the q arm of chromosome 5. This probe is available with vibrant green and orange labeling for clear visualization, and customization options are available to suit your specific research needs.
The myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) characterized by 5q deletion was first recognized in the 1970s, marking it as the initial chromosomal deletion linked to a distinct hematologic phenotype. The loss of the 5q31 region is frequently observed in both MDS and acute myeloid leukemia (AML), often occurring in conjunction with other cytogenetic abnormalities. Although the exact sites of 5q deletions may differ among cases, the critical deletion region consistently localizes to 5q31 in nearly all reported instances.
