Interferon Regulatory Factor 2 is a member of the interferon regulatory transcription factor (IRF) family. IRF-2 competitively inhibits the IRF1-mediated transcriptional activation of interferons alpha and beta, and presumably other genes that employ IRF-1 for transcription activation. However, IRF-2 also functions as a transcriptional activator of histone H4. IRF-2 binds to the upstream regulatory region of type-1 IFN and IFN-inducible MHC class-1 genes (the interferon consensus sequence (ics) and represses those genes. Human Recombinant Interferon Regulatory Factor-2 produced in E. coli is a single, non- glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 133 amino acids (1-113) with a His-Tag of 20 aa, and having a molecular mass of 15 kDa.

Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The dissolved protein can be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 1 week. Store frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
