Description
RBP-5 is a member of the Retinol-binding proteins family. Estimation of retinol-binding protein is used to determine visceral protein mass in nutritional studies related to health. RBP-5 has a higher expression in the adult kidney and liver and to a lesser extent in the adult and fetal spleen, adult lymph nodes and appendix, and fetal liver and kidney. RBP-5 expression is strongly decreased in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues. Human recombinant RBP-5 produced in E. coli is fused with a 20 amino acid His-tag at the N- terminus. It is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain of 155 amino acids (1-135 a.a.) and a molecular mass of 18.1 kDa. It has been purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

                            Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The dissolved protein can be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
                            Storage & Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 1 week. Store frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
