Description
Recombinant Murine Interleukin-3 (rMu IL-3) is a species specific colony-stimulating factor, which stimulates colony formation of megakaryocytes, neutrophils, and macrophages from bone marrow cultures. rMu IL-3 is a non-glycosylated 15.1 kDa protein containing 135 amino acid residues.

Activity
Recombinant murine IL-3 is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of murine M-NFS-60 cells is 2 x 10^7 units/mg.

Formulation
The sterile-filtered protein solution in water (1 mg/ml) was lyophilized with no additives.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized rMu IL-3 should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rMu IL-3 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
