Description
Vascular Endothelial Cell Growth Factor (VEGF) is a secreted homodimeric protein expressed by a variety of vascularized tissues. The reported activities of human VEGF include stimulation of endothelial cell growth, angiogenesis, and vascular permeability. Human VEGF is a 38.2 kDa homodimeric protein consisting of two 165 amino acid polypeptide chains.|Human recombinant VEGF-165 produced in CHO cells is a dimeric, glycosylated polypeptide chain of 165 amino acids each and migrates as an 42 kDa in SDS-PAGE under non-reducing conditions. The VEGF has been purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

                            Activity
Determined by its ability to stimulate 3H-Thymidine incorporation in human umbilical vein endothelial cells, the ED50 for this effect was found to be 2-6 ng/ml.

                            Formulation
Lyophilized from a protein solution in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.4) with no additives.
                            Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening the vial. The lyophilized human VEGF should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
                            Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu VEGF should be stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at –20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
