Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0294
Description
Stem Cell Growth Factor (SCGF-beta) formly known as SCGF is a newly discovered hematopoietic growth factor that exerts its activity at the early stages of hematopoiesis. Human SCGF-beta is a non-glycosylated 29 kDa species-specific cytokine that can support growth of primitive hematopoietic cells, and in combination of EPO or GM-CSF, it promotes proliferation of erythroid and myeloid progenitors, respectively.
Species

Product Overview
Human KITLG expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
29 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0294-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0294-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 98% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses. Endotoxin level is less than
Activity
Determined by its inhibitory effect on the proliferation of TF-1 cells previously grown in media containing GM-CSF. The ED50 for this effect was observed at 7 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile filtered and then the protein was lyophilized from a 1 mg/ml solution in 0.25x PBS + 1mM DTT.
Reconstitution
We recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. It is recommended that further dilutions be made into buffer containing carrier protein (HSA or BSA) or medium containing serum. This solution can then be stored at 4°C for 1 week or at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein is stable for up to 3 weeks at room temperature, but best stored dessicated at -20°C. Reconstituted SCGF-beta should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C.
