Description
Recombinant Human Interleukin-10 (rHu IL-10), originally known as Cytokine Synthesis Inhibitory Factor (CSIF), is an 18.6 kDa protein of 161 amino acid residues that shares over 80% sequence homology with the Epstein-Barr Virus protein BCRFI. The reported biological activities of rHu IL-10, which may be interrelated, include inhibition of macrophage-mediated cytokine synthesis, suppression of the delayed-type hypersensitivity response, and stimulation of the TH2 cell response, which results in elevated antibody production.|Human recombinant IL-10 produced in E. coli is a non-covalent dimer of 2 polypeptide chains containing 161 amino acids each and having a molecular mass of 18606.29 Dalton. It has been purified by using proprietary chromatographic techniques.

                            Activity
Creative Bioarray's rHu IL-10 is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of mouse MC-9 cells was found to be <2 ng/ml, corresponding to a Specific Activity of 5 x 10^5 IU/mg.
                            Endotoxin Level
                                Less than 1 EU/μg.
                            Formulation
Lyophilized from a concentrated (1 mg/ml), sterile-filtered protein solution in PBS (pH 7.4) with no additives.
                            Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening the vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at –20°C for future use.
                            Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored dessicated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu IL-10 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at –20°C. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
