Description
Connective Tissue Growth Factor belongs to the CCN family of proteins. The CCN family presently consists of six members in human also known as: Cyr61, CTGF, Nov, WISP-1, 2 and 3. The CCN genes encode secreted proteins associated with the Extracellular Matrix (ECM) and cell membrane. CCN proteins are matricellular proteins which are involved in the regulation of various cellular functions including: proliferation, differentiation, survival, adhesion and migration. Full length secreted CCN proteins can show an anti proliferative activity, whereas truncated isoforms are likely to stimulate proliferation and behave as oncogenes. CTGF (182-250 aa) produced in E. coli, is a fusion protein with a His-Tag (4 kDa), having a total molecular mass of 15 kDa.

                            Formulation
Sterile-filtered, white, lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Sterile-filtered and lyophilized without any additives.
                            Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening the vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
                            Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted protein should be stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
