Description
Recombinant Human soluble CD40 Ligand (rHu sCD40L/TRAP) belongs to the TNF receptor family and is expressed on B cells, dendritic cells, monocytes, thymic epithelial cells and T cells. Binding of CD40L to its receptor, CD40, influences the B cell proliferation and differentiation, and immunglobulin class switching. Creative Bioarray's Human soluble CD40L is a 16.3 kDa protein containing 149 amino acid residues comprising the receptor binding TNF-like domain of sCD40L/TRAP.

                            Activity
Recombinant human sCD40 Ligand is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The biological activity of Creative Bioarrays human sCD40L/TRAP was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of IL-8 production and IL-12 induction by human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC). The ED50 for this effect is 5-10 ng/ml.
                            Endotoxin Level
                                Less than 1 EU/μg.
                            Formulation
                                Lyophilized from a sterile-filtered, concentrated (1 mg/ml) solution in PBS (pH 7.0).
                            Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening the vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
                            Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu sCD40 Ligand should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
