Description
Recombinant Human TRAIL (rHu TRAIL, TNF-Related Apoptosis Inducing Ligand), also called Apo2 Ligand, is a cytotoxic protein which activates rapid apoptosis in tumor cells, but not in normal cells. Creative Bioarrays Human TRAIL/Apo2 Ligand is a 19.6 kDa protein with 168 amino acid residues, comprising the full-length of the TNF-like extracellular domain of TRAIL/Apo2 Ligand.

                            Activity
Recombinant Human TRAIL is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The ED50 as determined by its ability to induce apoptotic cell death in TRAIL-sensitive U343MG cells was found to be 2 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 5 x 10^5 units/mg.

                            Formulation
Sterile-filtered and lyophilized from a concentrate d solution (1 mg/ml) containing 150 mM NaCl and 50 mM sodium phosphate (pH 7.4).
                            Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening the vial. Reconstitute in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.5-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
                            Storage & Stability
The lyophilized TRAIL/Apo2L, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted TRAIL/Apo2L should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
