Recombinant Human Interleukin-6 for cell culture (rHu IL-6 CC) is a 21 kDa protein containing 184 amino acid residues. RHu IL-6 CC is a potent lymphoid cell growth factor, which affects B- Lymphocytes, T-Lymphocytes and hybridoma cells. It will also affect cytotoxic T-cells in combination with other factors such as IL-2 and Interferon-gamma.
Human IL6 expressed in E.coli
CAT# CSC-CTK0229-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0229-50 (50 μg)
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
The specific biological activity was determined by a cell proliferation assay using the IL-6- dependent mouse hybridoma cell line B9. The ED50 for this effect is 1-5 pg/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of Greater than 1 x 10^8 units/mg (WHO international standard 89/548, NIBSC).
Lyophilized from DMEM/F12 (HSA as stabilizer).
Please centrifuge product before opening the vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted with 2 ml of sterile, distilled water. For further dilution carrier protein should be added to avoid loss of bioactivity.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu IL-6 CC should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C for future use. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
