Recombinant Human Interferon-alpha (rHu IFN-alpha) is a lymphoid factor which is produced by macrophages and has potent anti-viral activities. Interferon stimulates the production of two enzymes: protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase. rHu IFN-alpha 2a produced in HEK cells is a glycosylated monomer, having a total molecular weight of 16 kDa. It has been purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Human IFNA2 expressed in HEK cells
CAT# CSC-CTK0182-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0182-50 (50 μg)
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
rHu IFN-alpha 2a is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. IFN-alpha 2a is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The specific activity was determined by the dose-dependent cytotoxicity of the human TF-1 cell line (human erythroleukemic indicator cell line) and is typically 0.1-0.4 ng/ml.
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Sterile-filtered, white, lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Lyophilized from a concentrated protein solution (1 mg/ml) in 1xPBS.
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening the vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted IFN-alpha 2a should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
