Why should fibroblasts be excluded?

Fibroblasts often grow mixed with tumor cells at the same time, making it difficult to purify tumor cells. Moreover, fibroblasts often grow faster than tumor cells and can eventually suppress the growth of tumor cells. Therefore, the exclusion of fibroblasts becomes the key in tumor cell culture.
