Description
Immortalized Rat Retinal Cells (E1A-NR.3) are immortalized with the 12S portion of replication incompetent adenovirus E1A gene. It expresses vimentin and is the parental cells to the Immortalized Rat Retinal Precursor Cell Line (R28). E1A-NR.3 cells exhibit contact inhibition and anchorage-dependent growth. Researchers may use this cell line to study photoreceptor rescue or replacement paradigm as studies have shown that the Immortalized Rat Retinal Cells (E1A-NR.3) are capable to successfully be transplanted intraocularly.
