Description
The Immortalized Mouse OP9 Stromal Cells (I-OP9) is a reliable source of M-CSF-deficient mouse stromal cells which has been reported to be able to support the differentiation of pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), such as hematopoietic stem cells (HSC). The OP9 cells were immortalized through viral infection with retrovirus carrying the LXSN16E6E7 vector to generate I-OP9. I-OP9 cells are tumorigenic when injected into mice. However, treatment with mitomycin C beforein vitrodifferentiation will eliminate the tumorigenicity issue before using as feeder cells for HSC. Additionally, the Immortalized Mouse OP9 Stromal Cells (I-OP9) may be used to study functions of M-CSF deficiency and osteroporosis.
