Description
Immortalized Mouse Achilles Tendon Cells (iMAT) are derived from the Achilles tendon of 4-week old CD1 mice and are immortalized using the piggyBac transposon system. The cells are hygromycin resistant. Tendon cells or tenocytes are differentiated cells that form the mature tendon as it is involved in synthesizing the extracellular matrix. iMAT is a valuable tool in studies relating to the native repair mechanisms of tendons.
