Does trypsin affect pH?
A:

The purified trypsin belonged to an alkaline protease, as it was highly active between pH 8.0 and 10.0 with an optimum pH of 9.0. Meanwhile, the enzyme exhibited outstanding stability at pHs 8.0, 9.0, and 10.0, while it could even retain about 50% residual activity after 80 h under the pH condition of 10.0.
