Spontaneously immortalized peripheral blood leukocytes from a 56-year-old white man with hairy cell leukemia (HCL) at diagnosis; cells were described to grow in soft agar, to be tumorigenic in irradiated nude mice and to be nagative for the HCL-associated mutation BRAF V600E
