Description
Originally described to be derived from the moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma of the head of the pancreas from a 74-year-old African-American man in 1996; patient was treated with pancreato-duodenectomy; cells were described as being tumorigenic in SCID mice; however, DNA fingerprinting and cytogenetic analysis showed cross-contamination with cell line HPAC which was established in 1985 from the pancreas adenocarcinoma of a 64-year-old Caucasian woman
