FONC-015
Description
Transforming rearrangements of the Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (ALK) gene (2p23) have been recognised in a subset of human hematological and solid malignancies.
The rearrangement of ALK has now been implicated in the development of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) as a result of an inversion involving chromosome 2 inv(2)(p21p23) with the fusion partner enchinoderm microtubule associated protein-like 4 gene(EML4).
The ALK (2p23) Break probe is optimized to detect translocationsinvolving the ALK gene region at 2p23.
