Q:
What are the histologic features of esophageal adenocarcinoma?
A:

Histologically, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma is characterized microscopically by keratinocyte-like cells with intercellular bridges or keratinization. Adenocarcinomas that arise from Barrett esophagus mucosa are typically well- or moderately differentiated and have well-formed tubular or papillary structures.
