Mouse Probes
New applications for mouse molecular cytogenetics are becoming more and more apparent, and are used to develop model systems for studies in the fields of life science, such as genetics, mutagenesis, diagnostics, developmental cancer biology and also as human surrogates for studying the effects of genotoxic agents. Mouse karyotyping can be complicated due to the relative difficulty of mouse chromosome identification by laboratories that are not accustomed to mouse chromosome banding techniques. Mouse FISH probes allow for the visualization of chromosomal abnormalities under a fluorescence microscope without expert knowledge of the mouse karyotype.
CABR™ Mouse Probes are designed to identify aneuploidies and translocations present in the entire mouse karyotype. Creative Bioarray has also developed a custom probe which can be used to detect the presence of chromosome X and chromosome Y, in mouse samples, using fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH).
