Animal tumor cells are critically important experimental model systems.
Animal tumor model systems are used in cancer biology where the goal is to study the growth and behavior of the tumors and in cancer treatment where the goal is to evaluate chemical, radiologic or immunologic therapies as potential cancer treatments.
