Recombinant Rat Ciliary Neutrophic Factor (rRa CNTF) is a potent neural factor that was originally characterized as a survivability factor for chick ciliary neurons in vitro. More recently, CNTF has been shown to promote survivability and differentiation of other neuronal cell types. rRa CNTF is a 22.7 kDa protein containing 200 amino acid residues.

The ED50 was determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of human TF-1 cells. The concentration range for this effect was 25.0 – 35.0 ng/ml.

Lyophilized from 5mM NaAcetate, pH 6.5.
Please centrifuge product before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rRa CNTF should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
