Testing cell cultures for mycoplasma is essential to ensure reliable research and biotechnology products. Mycoplasma contamination does not produce turbidity but can have adverse effects on cell line growth and characteristics.

Mycoplasma contamination can be efficiently and rapidly eliminated with the Mycoplasma removal agents. Two week treatment with Bioarray Cure TM was found sufficient to completely eliminate the mycoplasmas. A moderate toxicity can be observed during the course of the treatment but full recovery of the cell line is expected once mycoplasmas are eliminated.
