Q:
How do I count live cells with Teparan?
A:

Dilute the cell suspension to 200-2000 cells/mL with serum-free medium, and add 0.1 mL of 0.4% Teparan solution to 0.1 mL of cell suspension. Mix gently and count the cells with a hematocrit plate. Live cells reject Teparan, so cells stained blue are dead cells. Note that counting should be completed within 10 min of adding Teparan. If you have a cell counter, you can use the counter directly.
