Thanks for asking. I have double checked with our lab regarding your question. Here is the answer: It is recommended to use SuperCult® Retinal Pigment Epithelial Cell Growth Medium containing 2% FBS to plate cells (after thaw or subculture). Once cells attach to cell vessels, use serum free SuperCult® Retinal Pigment Epithelial Cell Growth Medium to maintain the culture for best culture results. Thus, when using this medium, please prepare serum-free medium first, then spare appropriate amount of the medium and add FBS to 2%. Use the serum-containing medium to plate the cells and serum-free medium to maintain the culture. Hope this helps clear your doubt.
