ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Pro-Insulin Like Growth Factor 2 (HEK)

Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0209
Description
IGF-2 is a member of the insulin family of polypeptide growth factors that is involved in development and growth. It is an imprinted gene and is expressed only from the paternally inherited allele. It is a candidate gene for eating disorders. There is a read-through, INS-IGF2, which aligns to this gene at the 3 region and to the upstream INS gene at the 5 region. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. Recombinant human Pro-IGF-2 produced in HEK cells is a glycosylated monomer, having a total molecular weight of 25 kDa. It has been purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human IGF2 expressed in HEK cells
Molecular Mass
25 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0209-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0209-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
HEK cells
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Activity
rHu Pro-IGF-2 is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The specific activity was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of MCF-7 cells (human breast cancer cell line) and is typically 2-8 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile-filtered, white, lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Lyophilized from a concentrated protein solution (1 mg/ml) in 1xPBS.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted protein should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
