Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0560
Description
Neuregulin is a signaling protein for ErbB2/ErbB4 receptor heterodimers on the cardiac muscle cells, playing an important role in heart structure and function through inducing ErbB2/ErbB4 receptor phosphorylation and cardiomyocyte differentiation. Research on molecular level discovered that recombinant neuregulin could make disturbed myocardial cell structure into order and strengthen the connection between myocardial cells by intercalated discs re-organization. Pharmacodynamic experiments in animals showed that recombinant NRG-1 can reduce the degree of damage on myocardial cells caused by ischemia, hypoxia and viral infection. Recombinant human Heregulin-b1/Neuroregulin-1 (Neu differentiation factor) produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain of 61 amino acids comprising the EGF-like domain, and having a total molecular mass of 7,055 Dalton.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human NRG1 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
7 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0560-50 (50 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0560-250 (250 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 96% as determined by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC analysis.
Activity
Recombinant human NRG1 is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50, calculated by the dose-dependant stimulation of human MCF-7 cells, corresponds to a specific activity of 1.2 x 10^4 units/mg.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a sterile-filtered solution (0.25 mg/ml) in 20 mM phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) and 2% mannitol.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu NRG-1 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
