Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0761
Description
NT-3 a member of the neurotrophin family, that controls survival and differentiation of mammalian neurons. This protein is closely related to both nerve growth factor and brain-derived neurotrophic factor. It may be involved in the maintenance of the adult nervous system, and may affect development of neurons in the embryo when it is expressed in human placenta. NTF3- deficient mice generated by gene targeting display severe movement defects of the limbs. The mature peptide of this protein is identical in all mammals examined including human, pig, rat and mouse. Mouse recombinant Neurotrophin-3 produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 119 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 13606.29 Dalton.

CAT# CSC-CTK0761-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0761-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 97% as determined by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC analysis.
Activity
The ED50, as determined by the dose-dependant induction of choline acetyl transferase in rat basal forebrain primary septal culture, was found to be between 20-50 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
N/A
Formulation
Sterile-filtered, white, lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Lyophilized from a protein solution in 0.02% TFA.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted protein should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
