ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Tumor necrosis factor (Yeast)
- Specification
- Recommended Products
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0344
Description
Recombinant Human Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (rHu TNF-alpha) is a 17 kDa protein containing 157 amino acid residues. Human TNF-alpha is a potent lymphoid factor which exerts cytotoxic effects on a wide range of tumor cells and certain other target cells.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human TNF expressed in Yeast
Molecular Mass
17 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0344-50 (50 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0344-250 (250 μg)
Expression System
Yeast
Purity
Greater than 97% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Activity
Biological activity was determined by a standard cell cytotoxicity assay using the TNF-alpha susceptible mouse cell line L929 in the presence of 1 μg/ml Actinomycin D. The ED50 for this effect is ≤0.05 ng/ml, which corresponds to a specific activity of Greater than 2 x 10^7 units/mg (WHO Standard 87/650, NICBS).
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Lyophilized (Stabilizer: Mannitol 50 μg/μg rHu TNF-alpha).
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening the vial. The lyophilized rHu TNF- alpha should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. For further dilution, carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) should be added to avoid loss of bioactivity.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized rHu TNF-alpha, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu TNF-alpha should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
