Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0319
Description
Chemerin is a secreted chemoattractant protein that can signal through the chemokine like receptor-1 (CMKLR1). It is expressed in various tissues, including white adipose tissue, and circulates in blood as an inactive 143 amino acid precursor protein. Biologically active Chemerin is generated by proteolytic removal of C-terminal residues by several circulating proteases. Chemerin acts as a chemoattractant for cells expressing the CMKLR1 receptor, which includes certain dendritic cells, macrophages, and adipocytes. Recombinant human Chemerin is a 15.6 kDa protein consisting of 135 amino acid residues.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human RARRES2 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
15.6 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0319-25 (25 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0319-125 (125 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 98% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses.
Activity
Determined by its ability to chemoattract human immature dendritic cells using a concentration range of 1.0-100.0 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile-filtered through a 0.2 micron filter and lyophilized with no additives.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored dessicated at -20°C. Reconstituted protein should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at –20°C. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
