Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0281
Description
Recombinant Human Platelet Derived Growth Factor (rHu PDGF) is a potent mitogen for a wide range of cell types including fibroblasts, smooth muscle and connective tissue. PDGF, which is composed of a dimer of two chains termed the A chain and B chain, can be present as AA or BB homodimers or as an AB heterodimer. Human PDGF-BB produced in E. coli is a 24.3 kDa B chain homodimer formed by subunits of 109 amino acid residues. It has been purified using proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human PDGFB expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
24.3 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0281-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0281-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC analysis.
Activity
The ED50, as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of murine Balb/c 3T3 cells, is 1.0-3.0 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a sterile-filtered, concentrated protein solution in PBS (pH 7.4) without additives.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product before briefly opening vial. The lyophilized PDGF-BB should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted PDGF-BB should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0,1% HSA or BSA). Please avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
