  • Specification
  • Recommended Products
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0199
Description
Recombinant Human Insulin Like Growth Factor-I (rHu IGF-I) is a polypeptide growth factor, which stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of cell types including muscle, bone, and cartilage tissue. Human IGF-I is a 7.6 kDa protein containing 70 amino acid residues.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human IGF1 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
7.6 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0199-100 (100 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0199-500 (500 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC analysis.
Activity
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BALB/c 3T3 cells is ≤ 1.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of Greater than 1 x 10^6 units/mg. For most in vitro applications, IGF-I exerts its biological activity in a concentration ranging between 0.2 to 20 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a sterile-filtered protein solution with no additives.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening the vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized IGF-I, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted IGF-I should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
