FGF-6 is a secreted heparin binding growth factor that is a member of the FGF family. Proteins of this family play a central role during prenatal development and postnatal growth and regeneration of a variety of tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF-6 is expressed in leukemia cell lines with platelet megakaryocytic differentiation potential. It signals through FGFR 1c, 2c, and 4. Recombinant human FGF-6 is an 18.7 kDa protein consisting of 168 amino acid residues.

Sterile, lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Lyophilzed from 10 mM Sodium Phospate (pH 7.2) and 50 mM NaCl.
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized FGF-6 should be reconstituted in sterile 5 mM sodium phosphate (pH 7.2) to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into water or other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu FGF-6 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
