Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0169
Description
The FGFs play key roles in controlling tissue growth, morphogenesis, and repair in animals. Fibroblast Growth Factor-18 is a newly discovered heparin binding growth factor that stimulates the proliferation and activation of cells that express FGF receptors. Creative Bioarrays human FGF-18 is a 21.2 kDa protein containing 182 amino acid residues.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human FGF18 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
21.2 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0169-25 (25 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0169-125 (125 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analysis.
Activity
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF receptors is < 0.5 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of Greater than 2 x 10^6 units/mg.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
The sterile filtered solution was lyophilized from 10mM Tris pH 8.0.
Reconstitution
The human FGF-18 should be reconstituted in 5mM Tris, pH 8.0 to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted in water or other buffer solutions and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized human FGF-18, though stable at room temperature, is best stored desiccated at - 20°C. Reconstituted FGF-18 should be used immediately or stored in working aliquots at -20°C. Please avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
