  • Recommended Products
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0099
Description
This gene is a member of the EPO/TPO family and encodes a secreted, glycosylated cytokine composed of four alpha helical bundles. The protein is found in the plasma and regulates red cell production by promoting erythroid differentiation and initiating hemoglobin synthesis. This protein also has neuroprotective activity against a variety of potential brain injuries and antiapoptotic functions in several tissue types. Recombinant Human Erythropoietin-alpha, produced in HEK cells by recombinant DNA technology, is a is a glycosylated monomer with a predicted molecular mass of 36 kDa. It has been purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human EPO expressed in HEK cells
Molecular Mass
N/A
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0099-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0099-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
HEK cells
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Activity
rHu EPO-alpha is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The specific activity was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of human TF-1 cells (human erythroleukemic indicator cell line) and is typically 0.5-2.5 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile-filtered, white, lyophilized (freeze-dried)powder. Lyophilized from a concentrated protein solution (1 mg/ml) in 1xPBS.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu EPO-alpha should be used immediately or stored long- term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
