Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0377
Description
Recombinant Human RANTES (rHu RANTES) is a CC-chemokine that can signal through the CCR1, CCR3, CCR5 and US28 (cytomegalovirus receptor) receptors. It is a chemoattractant towards monocytes, memory T cells (CD4+/CD45RO), basophils, and eosinophils. RANTES also has the capability to inhibit certain strains of HIV-1, HIV-2 and simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). Recombinant human RANTES is a single non-glycosylated 7.81 kDa polypeptide chain containing 68 amino acid residues including the four highly conserved cysteine residues present in the CC chemokines.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human CCL5 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
7.8 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0377-20 (20 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0377-100 (100 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 98% as determined by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC analysis.
Activity
The activity was determined by chemoatractting human blood monocytes at a concentration between 1-10 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a concentrated (1 mg/ml), sterile-filtered protein solution with no additives.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening the vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored dessicated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu RANTES should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
